Goals
Improve the backend experience and give the client confidence to control their site.
Create a site that speaks to all audiences, with high level messaging at the forefront and technical details further within the site.
Create an updated website that incorporates more movement and graphics and feels less text heavy
Wireframes
While other team members were primarily taking lead on the information architecture phase I was brought in towards the end of that phase. In order to work out a few specifics to bridge the gap between the wireframes and visual design phase I sketched some concepts before jumping in.
Visual Design
After being handed the wireframes and content I kicked off the visual design portion by helping the client select new fonts and colors to build on their brand.
Once we settled on these important brand elements I worked on bringing the wireframes to life. I used large imagery, text highlights, background graphics, and interactive elements which brought in visual interest.
Where their previous site felt dense and text heavy this new look was clean and modern and guided the user through the high level messaging of who Weston Solutions is.
Development & Training
One of the big jumps the client wanted to make from their old site to their new one was adding in subtle movement and scrolling animations.
After QA and testing the site launched and we trained the client on how to use their new site so they would feel confident in editing and growing their site – giving them the independence they were looking for.
