UX & Website Design

Elwood Restaurant

Overview

Elwood is a local restaurant focusing on true PA Dutch dishes. It was very important to the chef to portray the unique aspects of the dishes and the experience of coming to his restaurant. We wanted to elevate his brand by bringing in rustic colors and elements to warm up his previously stark look.

Agency: Pixel Parlor

Goals

  • Create a website that tells the story behind the restaurant and dishes

  • Integrate the booking system (Resy) to allow users to easily book a table

  • Feature social media, press, and blog to allow users to get a closer look into Elwood

  • Create a website that was quick and easy to update

Sitemap & Wireframes

For this sitemap we used a more visual approach (a bit of a combination of a wireframe and a sitemap) to better help the client envision how the structure of the navigation and footer would look and function.

We began with lo-fi wires with placeholder content. In the next round we made some improvements and worked with our copywriter to include the final content.

Visual Design

In the visual design phase we expanded and improved on the existing brand. We warmed up the color palette and brought in some vintage illustrations to really help tell the story behind the restaurant and set the tone for what someone could expect when visiting this unique restaurant.
